Public Transportation provides needed service in every county in Kentucky and is critical for job growth, education attainment and social needs as well as emergency preparedness. Not only do all Kentucky’s 120 counties have access to Public Transportation, they depend on this mode of transportation for improved economic development and quality of life.Transit provides 31 million trips annually over the entire public transit system. Most of these trips are taken to places of employment or educational institutions, or they provide access to basic needs like health care.
The three largest public transit systems in Kentucky alone connect employers with employees over 11 million times a year.
